TBL unofficially out of trouble

Créé par: bhavikp27
Équipe: 2019-20 Lightning de Tampa Bay
Date de création initiale: 14 août 2019
Publié: 14 août 2019
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
With Erne traded, assuming Domingue is moved for a non-roster player/pick (that's why he's on LTIR), TBL has enough to sign Point if it's under $9M.

Good work by Brisebois so far. " Just " need to sign Point now.

If you get him at 8.75 you have just enough to fill out the roster with 2 minumums, like schenn and another forward

Had this thought. Also, depends on if a young player (Barre-Boulet, Verhaeghe, Volkov, Raddysh, Stephens) steps up. Martel & Witkowski can be 13th F/7th D as well so it would give TBL an ever better lineup.

Only helps this season! Next season with that deal they would need to sign 8 players and have 5Mill if the caps stays the same or a tad more depending on how much it goes up! TB is screwed just like Toronto. win this year or it's all going to start to unwind!

This trade does not help the cap at all. We need someone to take Erne’s spot, and that someone is going to cost at least $700k. If Erne was demanding too much, the team would have refused to budge and he would have filed for arbitration (which he decided against). So considering he was being fairly agreeable given that, surely he doesn’t sign over $1m. We save up to $300k in cap space. I really don’t think the $300k is going to matter for Point. Maybe it helps with performance bonuses. But why wouldn’t we just move Rutta? He doesn’t fit anywhere anymore because of the number of RHDs we have, and has more of a cap hit than what we want for a scratch, but is a young and solid bottom-pairing defenseman on a reasonable cap hit for any team that will actually play him.

Everyone on Cap Friendly

Fan give Point 9 million or less on a longer term contract.

Fans "..... looks fair, I think that'll be how it goes"

A different fan give Marner a deal under 10 million

Fans "ARE YOU CRAZY? There is no chance Marner signs for less than 11 million. "

I love this argument. THEY HAVE TOO MANY TALENTED, YOUNG PLAYERS! ITS ALL OVER MAN! YOU GUYS ARE SCRWED..its not like they can trade one or two of them for futures or prospects or anything. I always thought contenders should be tight to the cap...

Going to need to trade some big names and big salaries off that roster in the coming years. No way to fit all the big contracts. Especially with the goalie contract they signed! With that team any goalie would have been good enough! That's a wasted 9.5Mil cap hit that could have paid Point. They will be in cap trouble for years to come. See PIT and CHI as examples. At least those 2 won multiple cups!

While I'd agree the Vasilevski contract might be necessary no matter how good he is, It's not like Tampa will be a dumpster fire in a couple years. Worst case they trade one big name and are still one of the best teams in the league, it's not like their window is immediately over.

That silly talk.. overpaid Vas 1M but long term it great.. issue is the 4 horsemen. .. Goude Johnson Palat and Killorn .. if ALL 4 went away .. team wouldn't miss a beat .. they would have 20M new money .. half needed for 2020 RFAs and rest for 3 stud UFAs to play with Crunch guys .. but this thinking HAS to happen.

Neither of those teams were in trouble until they locked in bad players to long term contracts. Tampa as shown above doesn't have that issue
