No Leafs fan thinks that.. there are differences in degrees of how much difference is between them (which is not issue).. issue is that he is being portrayed as the best winger in the entire universe by everybody and he isnt.

No one says Marner is the best winger in the world, not even close. What I see all the time is claims that Nylander is better than Marner because he has better possession metrics, and that Nylander would score 100 points if he played with Tavares. Now Nylander put up 61 points playing alongside Matthews, a centre who is not much worse than Tavares, plus he was playing on the top powerplay unit, yet the expectation is he can almost double that? At least Marner was a 70 point player who scored at a point per game pace during the second half of 2017-18 season with Kadri, so it should be no surprise that he put up over a points per game playing with the much more talented Tavares. The doubt over Marner’s ability is bewildering, he is more than just a passenger. Honestly Marner’s skill and talent level is closer to Tavares and Matthews than it is to Nylander.

The problem is the Matthews Contract is way overpriced, and that's why people think that Marner is a 8 figure player, because they lot them in the same category, and because its Toronto....

If you really do think that the problem is Matthews, than you in fact, are the problem. Matthews is as far from the problem as the "problem" is. I find it laughable that you trade one of the best young centres in the game and the Leafs D Core looks exactly the same as it did with Matthews on the team.
