I think teams prefer quality over quantity when your trading young player with a lot of potential (kase). Ducks declines IMO. The package is not bad but not good enought

It's a pretty good package, but I think Ducks want to see what Kase is capable of.

I was debating proposing a bode Wilde and beauvillier for kase - i think that would get it done. I thought the ducks might have wanted an NHL ready D

I agree that quality trumps quantity (suck it Melnyk) but that offer has multiple quality pieces that on their own (at the very least) can be argued comparable to Kase's value. Beauvillier is younger and has put up decent numbers and Mayfield is a solid RHD on a great contract. Throw in a 2nd round pick and I can't see how the Ducks turn it down while going through a rebuild.

Yes the Ducks would defenetly value Wilde over Mayfield IMO. Nothing against Mayfield but Wilde has more offensive upside.

I honestly think it's an overpay. Kase is good but how much higher is his ceiling than Beau for example? Is it worth a fringe top-4D and 2nd round pick? I don't know. Before his injury, Kase was on pace for 54 pts. - and that assumes he would continue at that level. Beau could be a 40 pt player or so. Kase helps, no question about that, but I think it's too rich of a deal

The Ducks have 0 reason to trade Kase. Like you mention they are in a retool phase so they can be patient. The only reason they would trade Kase his for a young offensive RHD to complete their top 4 with Manson. The Ducks dont want Beauvillier IMO they already have better or same kind of (but younger) player like Terry, Comptois, Lundestrom and Steel. That trade would work for the NYI and would work on xbox (because the value is their) but I would be surprised if a Duck fans would accepted that deal. If there is any Ducks fans that want to give is thought that would be appreciated smile. Like I sais IMO they easily declines.

Kase drives play, beauvillier does not. Kase has a higher ceiling than beau and in this league you have to give to get plus Islanders are trading from a position of strength (RD) and it’s a risk worth taking. “Strome for eberle” trades are not common.

Kase was on a 30 goal rate season at only 23 years old smile (I know that is only projection but that what Ducks fan will see in Kase !)

I wouldn’t say they easily decline - the front office would probably consider it - it depends on how much they value a RD on a great contract. They just tried to overpay shattenkirk to come to the ducks.

As a Ducks fan, I see the questions as (1) what is Kase's potential? (2) are we looking for help this season (Mayfield) or in the future (Wilde)? (3) do we want to be patient, at least for the first half of the season, and see which way we are headed and how the youngsters are playing, or do we want to try to improve the team right now?

If you assume that Anaheim wants to contend for the playoffs this year, then this trade makes sense and is good value. No criticism there. But I think there are too many arguments to wait and see for Bob Murray to pull the trigger on this one.

Good imagination and vision.

Probably not. Beauvillier is expendable - he should be traded before the season if it means getting back a better player.

I’d think both teams would pass on this trade but I’m not a NYI fan so I’m not certain on their end. But as a duck fan I think they’d pass as Beu is a winger and the ducks are pretty set for next season on the wing. Also Kase has his injury concerns, including multiple concussions. I think the ducks want to see him play 70+ games with an even bigger role this year and see what they really have with him. Numbers say they have a really good player.

He isn’t consistent enough to be a top 6 player (isles can’t wait much longer) and dal colle played well in a 3rd line lw role, which makes beau expendable in a package to land a better forward

You've proposed a very good deal. As a Ducks fan I would seriously consider saying yes to this.

But I think personally I would have to pass only because Kase is a favorite player and I'd hate to see him go smile
