What to do with Marner

Description
You've probably read or heard the article about the leafs offering Marner 9-11M. Today I've been thinking and at what dollar amount is Marner more valuable as a trade chip. I would hate to lose him but I don't like him at 11m.
This got me thinking. What should the leafs look for in return for him?
I highly doubt this trade would ever happen. Just having fun

I don't think a Marner trade would happen unless the team trading for him could figure out a contract beforehand.

As a Leafs fan.. I like it! Maybe I will change Juolevi to some RHD like Woo or some other D prospect but honestly this is a nice refresher of a trade. Boeser would fit nicely in Leafs.

holy crap a Leafs fan that actually knows what he's talking about. Not saying this will happen but it actually makes sense. Usually just see copies of crappy trades but this ones decent.

No from the Canucks. To give up Juolevi and Boeser doesn't make sense for the rebuilding Canucks and asking for a 2nd rounder on top of that is being greedy

What I don’t understand is when someone gives Boeser a 7 year deal worth 8.5 million AAV, no one complains. But when someone gives Marner 10 million AAV for the same term, everyone starts crying and calling it an overpay. Why is that? Cuz I think Marner is far better than Boeser.

    I’m 100% fine with a 7x10. I disagree with 10 million when it’s on a 3 year term

Yes you might be fine with it, but I’m sure there are many Leaf fans who aren’t.

The out of playoffs Canucks might like the on the ice value , but look at the Canucks cap. Doubt if they can squeeze in signed Marner who might cost 3m more than Boesner

He was once speculated as the video game addict. Then it turned out to be Rubstov and Jones, who did not match Marek’s report at all.

Parayko wasn't signed to his ELC until age 22, Ryan Ellis didn't start in the NHL until he was 20 and didn't play a full year until 22. Subban was 21 at the start of hi first full season.
Reach, maybe but he hasn't played yet so we don't know. Ellis by the way was an 11th overall pick. When he's 25 we can make that distinction. Until then he has a lot of development to do.

right but he still could be top 5. Sure you want an impact sooner with that draft position. But that doesn't mean he can't be worth it

I think around 10 mil is what Marner is going to get and yes Marner is better then Boeser but Boeser plus the rest of the package is worth it and keeps the Leafs under the cap.
