that avs trade is terrible. I wouldnt give up a 2nd for Pageau and having to take on that terrible goalie in Anderson...never mind giving up a 2nd + a decent prospect.

Ottawa certainly need no help locking up last overall. They’re about to go a full season without stone and Duchene and their biggest offseason addition was Ron Hainsey.

It’s not about McNabb being worse, he is better but the other 2 are restraining them, and Demelo is young whereas McNabb is 30 at the end of this contract and additionally it gives them more cap relief it’s more a sideways move in terms of McNabb and a relief in cap as the advance

McNabb is under a great contract, DeMelo is UFA after this year and will cost more than McNabb when re-signed.

VGK doesn't benefit from this trade at all.
