4 and 5yr deals are not in the books I think.. 3x8 or 9.5x6 it would be imo.

8 years would probably have to be going 10.5 and up, because 9.5 for 8 wars is too little difference in the cap hit compared to the term (3 years for 8).

Aside from the stuff mentioned above, what happens when Hyman and Dermott come back? They don't have to worry about Clarkson and Horton but they do have to with Hyman. The minute he comes back, the team is over the cap. I didn't do the math yet but just quickly looking at it, they'd have to send their highest paid 1M players to the AHL and go with no spares to MAYBE fit under the cap. Someone would have to actually do the math to find out.

UFA VS RFA. People are nuts if they think marner will get anything over 10.5 on a 8 year deal. on a 4, your looking at 7.5-8. On a 2, around 6.5

I am just not buying the $11M figure for Marner. I still think he will be lucky to get $9.5M.

As for the lineup, I see Nick Shore taking the 4C job and I don't see Trevor Moore being bumped out of the lineup.

on a 4, you're looking at hell freezing over. It's never happened in NHL history as far as I'm aware of, and definitely not in the salary cap era.

Shore will be a wing and alternate with Spezza worst case. Babcock loves his vets and vets that can win faceoffs and Spezza had one of the highest FO Win % last year.



I do agree 4 aint happening. I am betting on a 2 year for 6 or 3 at 7.25. That the way I think it works since then you have more money next year to sign Barrie, Dermott and maybe even Muzzin
