Let me update, forgot to move Perlini to EDM for a 3rd. Kubalik will be scratch and rotate in, Sikura in Rockford to develop for a year.

Did you not watch or read anything about prospect camp? Nylander was the only player with a full year of pro experience; 3 to be exact and he didn't stand out at all aside from 1 on 1 drills. Today's scrimmage he looked bad. How do you think the only guy with 3 pro years under his belt who gets outplayed by 18 and 19 year olds is going to be a 1st liner?

Yeah I did, they were impressed with Nylander. I'd love to know your sources because Nylander seems to have bulked up and improved. Is a 3 on 3 scrimmage really the determining factor of a player's improvement?

I can see sikura in Rockford. He could not hit the net to save his life last season.
Between wedin nylander dach kurashev kubalik ejdsell sikura and Quenneville, training camp and pre season are going to be crazy competitive!

The guy is literally the only player at that camp with a year of pro experience....in his case 3 years. If he's not skating circles around them...that's kind of a problem no?

Did you read the part of the articles where Bowman said his development was hindered by making the jump to pro at 18? Or are we not going to give him the benefit of the doubt like Sikura?

Sikura will find the net. The kid needs to bulk up with another 10lbs of muscle. What he did show is on the top line he was in position, has both puck making abilities, making the right passes and great hockey IQ. He looks terrible on the bottom 6 due to his size.

LMAO, so let's believe bowman who almost unanimously all the beat writers for both the Sabres and Hawks say the Sabres won that trade; I mean he has no reason to defend that horrible trade right? What do you think; Bowman's not going to make excuses for him?

Honest question, have you watched Nylander play before? I ask the same question to all the Hawks fans who think he's a slot in like you have here. Not one person that has payed any attention to Nylander in the AHL or the few showings in the NHL has anything to say good about his effort, stamina, attitude and if you watch him, you can see on the ice he's one of these kids that never had to work hard and existed on pure talent until he got to the pros and now is realizing he needs to wake up and work hard.

I have seen him play before, he has loads of talent, is his brother not the exact same way? His brother literally missed half a season to get paid, they are a very entitled family, I honestly don't understand why that is so mind-boggling considering how William acted last offseason. Everyone thought Strome was a slow, lazy player and look how that worked out. I understand that many are concerned with his work ethic, but Buffalo has never been good at grooming talent unless its 1st overall picks. Reinhart, Ristolainen, and Mittelstadt have all had slow starts in Buffalo.

Alex has talent, but not much work ethic. If you can't play better then average in the AHL, then you can't make it in the NHL. It's really that simple. Nylander has to prove himself, the Hawks will give him nothing until that happens nor should they.

Strome is still slow and gets winded easily; that hasn't changed. Lazy is subjective.

I’ll second the sentiment on nylander. I actually watched the scrimmage live, and nylander was the worst player on the ice as a 21 year old, or 22, whatever he is. I couldn’t believe how bad he was. Sabres fans are laughing their asses off as they should. So he better be in the ahl. Cuz he’s not an nhl caliber player. Much less a first liner.

Allowing a 3 on 3 scrimmage at a prospect camp in July to determine your position on a player is pretty pitiful.

And assuming that a 21 year old not being able to handle 18-19 year olds in 3 on 3 when you nhl experience is pretty pitiful. Sorry, but he’s lazy.

Sikura is three years older than Nylander and they put up the same numbers in the AHL last year, so I don’t see why you think Sikura can play top line but Nylander can’t. Plus Sikura is less talented and has less on an NHL frame.

I will keep telling you the same thing. It's a 3 on 3 scrimmage in july.
