Yotes are against the cap and no way Ranger buy out Staal who is essentially the team captain. Av's still have to sign Rantanen as well

Avs have a ton of cap and he’s only a one year player, I’d say trade Strome to Carolina as that could work out well, Staal gets more useless year after year— he’s definitely on the chopping block via buyout as it’s the most reasonable over the next 4 years (shattenkirk would count over 5m next year vs staals 3m)

I would love for Staal to be bought out, but it won't happen. Smith is the player that will be bought out if any Ranger does and Rantanen is going to get paid

He can but still counts for 3.25 million on the cap, we need a lot of room with Trouba going over 7 million alone, not even factoring in Buch at 3 mil, DeAngelo at 2 plus mil and Lemieux at 1 mil
