Nobody in the league with half a brain wants to pay Marner 10-11 mil per season, let alone a GM who has the same production at 6.75. This is where Marner has zero value and may end up sitting out this season

Usually a NCAA player who spends four years at college means he isn't good enough to turn pro earlier. High scoring and "best" in junior, NCAA and even the AHL.....doesn't mean that much. Being NHL good is still the measuring stick.
Questionable if Duszak sees the NHL, doubtful if he a difference maker in the NHL

Marner is the better player and is 4 years younger than Gaudreau. Cap hit is a huge factor, but Marner will most likely be making $2-3M more than Gaudreau... not $5M.

Hit the nail on the head with that one. Marner vs Johnny hockey can be debated all day in terms of skill, but it's not even a close comparison when Marner's contract demands are weighted against Gaudreau's cap hit in terms of the value they contribute on the ice.
