Moritz Seider a signé un contrat de 3 ans d'une valeur de 5 325 000 $ avec les Red Wings de Detroit, le 14 juill. 2019. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 863 333 $.
A lot of prospects site have him as the 2nd best d-man this draft
there was a lot of Talk about his maturity and he could see playing time as soon as this year
The debate for 2nd best dman in the draft was a pretty wide open one. Seider, Broberg, Soderstrom, York and Heinola were all in the discussion. I think he's a great player for his age and is going to be a very good NHL defenseman, but passing up on guys like Podkolzin, Zegras, etc. to get him is a very interesting decision. Defense is the most valuable position in the league right now, and Detroit probably saw this as an opportunity to get a good one and took it.

The best d-man is Harley Thomas. Better than Byram. No, not Thomas Harley, Harley Thomas.

I thought the same and I really liked Podkolzin and Cozens. Then I saw some highlights from the development camp. Seider is ridiculously talented. Fast, agile, creative, and great hands.

Podkolzin was an overrated player he was gonna drop from Top 3....
Just about every review on the Wing's draft that i've read started with I really like this guy but just not at number 6.
Buffalo and Edmonton apparently were very high on him. they wanted to trade back but couldn't find the right deal, and you don't want to trade back just to get your man snatched away because another team was high on him too. you're convinced of your man, you take your man.
Yeah, I guess the problem here is that Yzerman could have ended up having both a pick and the player he wanted.

Even if Seider doesn't pan out Detroit is still a head of where they were with Holland it took it took almost 6 months to say rebuild and another 6 to decide it had to be a full rebuild. Seider made me scratch my head but he hasn't tried to qualify or explain his choice. So it says Yzerman has a plan and he is sticking to it no matter what people say.
