He's 25, and clearly hasn't established himself as an NHL goalie. The question is, why did they re-sign him at all?
The penguins got DeSmith off the street and he's put up .916 and .921 over the last 2 years.

DeSmith makes 1.25 million per and has 3 year deal.

That's 3,5 over the cap and with only 5 defensemen signed

Why you wasting time with a 25 year old goalie who has declining numbers and had a low save percentage last year.....it's called moving on, like boston did.

Imagine not trading this guy when the bruins had the chance and everyone though he had a ton of potential

I'd rather take my chances with Dansk or others to see if they got any upside... Instead of having Mrazek they got Nosek and Subban ... There is a reason this guy ended up on waivers... HE does suck, will never be a starter... His best games are prob vs. Sharks who tend to struggle against Vegas... I can't wait to see Knights getting shelled so bad with their awful defense without my man Colin Miller to blame... Buffalo has a better shot at playoffs than Vegas currently . An expansion team that has not developed any players or even had a draft pick play for them is on a road to ruin fast .
