They have the cap space to match, they made it by trading away Nazem kadri, Nikita Zaitsev, and bringing in smaller cheaper pieces to help.

I feel like a 8x9M should be a good deal, even personally feel like he should be at 6x7.5/8

Yup.. I mean.. some people just look at production and hohoho he had 94 points he is the best on the leafs.. no. I know I look at different stats and you too. Those show that he was carried by Tavares extremely, it is historically proven. Its just crazy to me how people dont see how amazing Tavares is. He is so good.

Agree on that point, the JT contract is overpaid for sure, should have been closer to $10M

You are 1 funny, 2 ridiculous, and 3 can I have some of the weed you are smoking???

1, John Tavares is the best Player on the Toronto Maple Leafs
2. Mitch Marner doesn't want to play for a team that well
SinfulReasonableHyracotherium-size_restricted.gif

3. John Tavares is worth as much as he is paid the guy who is overpaid and should be making less than 7.5 Million is Carey Price, and Shea Weber.

4. At least Toronto can make playoffs unlike the glorious Montreal Canadiens.

5. Toronto has 5 Defenseman signed to Contracts on the NHL Level Thank You, and they still have a couple Prospect defenseman they can use in the NHL too.

6. Toronto's cap situation works perfectly to fit 3 Players over 10 Million Dollars.

So uh have fun thinking they will offersheet, maybe next they trade carey price to Toronto for a 7th....

To that point, Marner is worth $9.5M all day long then. Skinner got $9M and Marner is a better player hands down not only today but especially considering his upside.

Better player can only be shown without Tavares.

This is with Tavares, and he heavily leans on Tavares with his beefed up stats people are going to say he is really good, which to me isn't acceptable. Look closer than the basic statline.

1. I’m ready to bet that MTL will lift Stanley cup first than maple loosers LOL

2. Dubas thinks his playing nhl 19 on ps4 without salary cap

3. MTL has best prospect pool

4. We have space for another 2 players over 10M

You can't look at that alone as Marner with JT and without. There's 3 guys on the line and all 3 play a part in advanced stats not 2 of 3. There is no doubt Marner and JT benefit from one another that much is true and no doubt that a stud center like JT can cement a line better then a stud winger but that doesn't matter which winger to center comparison you're talking about. Patrick Kane on the 3rd line isn't going to look too good either.

I don't buy into that explanation floating around on how good Marner is. He's clearly a top 10 winger in the league. He has the skill to be a top 5 winger in the league. Dynamic wingers need high IQ linemates to play with...this shows nothing more or less.

and when will the Habs raise another cup likely 2078 something like that I would go to say Toronto wins a cup in 2020.
2 no because he made the cap work he has enough to sign marner to a long-term 10.5M contract hence the reason we have said they will MATCH.
3 no you don't have the best Prospect Pool, not even close to the best prospect pool, go look at Ottawa, and Minnesota, and Boston, and Florida, and Anaheim. All have better Prospect Pools than Montreal because Kotkaniemi, and Poehling don't count anymore they played NHL ice and they are staying on the NHL ice.
4 no you actually don't you have spent too much money on players like Price, and Shea Weber. Also called being a hypocrite if you have enough for another 2 10+M you are basically they same as Dubas. Stop playing on NHL 19....kid

No he has the skill to be a Top Line Winger at most, but to say he is one of the best Wingers in the League, and still have a worse CF% than Tarasenko, Radulov, Gallagher, and even Aho is quite hilarious how much wool is pulled over everyone's eyes.
