That's a no from the Isles. Leddy for Tatar straight up is doable, but we aren't throwing in a prospect with upside and a pick as well.

Leddy had 26 points last year and was a minus 42 the year before.

On the other hand Tatar scored 25 goals and 58 points. As a habs fan I think this deal favors the isles already, I'd be pretty pissed if they went one for one.

You're looking at two outlier season on both accounts. He was a minus 42 on a team that had the worse defense in the entire league. And he had 26 points on a team that focused on Defense and turned the worse defense in the league into the BEST defense in the league. Everyones point totals were down on the Isles last year because of the system put in place.

Leddy is a Top 4, borderline Top 2, excellent skating, puck moving LHD that on a normal year nets you 40+ points and an average +/-... look at the whole not just the parts that fit your narrative.

That's one way to look at it. However it's also true that Leddys value is at an all time low right now while Tatars is at a high.

Not one single person, except maybe Habs fans who want him for nothing, value Leddy at an all time low right now. Most people, with knowledge of hockey, understand that Leddy's point total dipped because Trotz implemented a DEFENSE first system. In fact, most would point to the fact that Leddy went from a -42 to a 0 in plus/minus and still managed to put up 26 points (only 16 off his total from the year before) while drastically improving his defensive game.

Take a look around at what the experts are saying the Isles can get for Leddy... a haul of picks/prospects or a Top 6 forward. In fact, in a Tatar for Leddy swap, most think MTL needs to add a pick (3rd or 4th rounder depending on who you ask) because Leddy is slightly younger and signed for longer.... but you guys keep thinking you're going to get a Top 4, excellent skating, puck moving LHD defense (that you need) for a bucket of crap.

I shouldn't be surprised this is coming from the same fan base that thought they were getting Ghost from Philly for Andrew Shaw, how'd that work out for you?

Someone's a little bitter it seems. Enjoy your 26 point all star top pairing defenseman big boy.

Not bitter, just pointing out your wrong on your valuation of Leddy. Go ahead and google Nick Leddy rumors and see what type of return people are speculating for him... go ahead, I’ll wait...
