I don’t think the habs would need to add that much, since the Sharks seem down on Dell, and they are giving them an extra $4.4 million in cap space. Maybe add a 4th instead.

Also I think there is a market for Miller, so Vegas will get more than a 5th for him.

Dell is as good as Lindgren is. Dillon is a solid TOP4 D. No way they're moving him for Hudon who wouldn't even fit to the roster.

Way too low. Dillon is alone worth more than Hudon, Lindgren and 4th.

That would be pretty stupid move by Vegas. Very solid RHD with good contract. They will move someone else, not him. And if they do, it won't be for 5th round...

I think what is happening here is that the Sharks are paying a premium for cap space, similar (but to a lesser extent) to Subban in Nashville. So the habs take on Dell’s contract, and pay less than market value for Dillon, so the Sharks can get the cap space they so desperately need.

What about trading Hudon for Theodore and Clarkson's contract?

otherwise i would go and get Clarkson and a first pick from vegas for almost nothing

Why would Vegas ever do that? It’s one year, and you can put him on LTIR anyways.

one year is a lot if you have cap issues.

When a player is placed on LTIR, their cap hit remains on the teams cap payroll and it continues to count as it always did. It also does not provide the club with additional cap-space savings that can be banked for future use while the team operates above the salary cap. Instead, LTIR provides relief if the club's averaged club salary, or payroll, begins to exceed the upper limit. The amount of relief that the club receives is calculated on the day the player is placed on LTIR. There are three equations that are used to determine the LTIR relief, the first, the basic equation, can be used during the season and during the off-season. The second, the training-camp equation, can be used on the final day of the off-season in preparation for the first day of the season. The third formula is used when the team already has a player on LTIR.

I understand, but I don’t see why it would cost Vegas a 1ST PAIRING DEFENSEMAN or a 1st round pick (which TOR paid for CAR to take on more money, and a non-LTIR eligible contract).
