why? he's 30, he's not going to be on the blues. They are better off playing one of their young players anyway. Why waste the time and effort at this point. Waste of a spot.

Standard AHL Mentoring Experienced guy. He'll be helping out with the prospects in the AHL nothing to bark at really it's standard to get an older more experienced player in with the young guys.

that mentality is quickly changing. Whole teams are replacing their older players with younger players.

not AHL teams tho. Sure for NHL, but AHL they try to get the older guys to mentor the younger kids.

Nope it's the AHL too. They want the space. They don't need those aging vets on the team. That's why they have coaches. The more young people you bring in, the more of a chance you hit on something. "old" players now in the 25-26 range. Teams are clearing them out. It makes perfect sense too. It's a farm system. and 30 year olds don't go on farm teams.
