I like the Edmonton trade. It is similar to many trades that I've seen on here.

It's been reported that St. Louis offered Pietrangelo for Nylander earlier in the season. The Leafs didn't like that offer. That's why I would think that the Leafs value Nylander (who's best season is ahead of him) for a declining Subban (who has a greater cap hit). What do you think of Subban (with $3M) retained for Zaitsev + pick ? I may be off, but it would give Nashville $1.5M in cap space and an additional pick. It would give the Leafs a RHD that is a replacement for Zaitsev for a $6M cap hit... Just a thought.

Well Subban is off the table now so I guess We will have to target a different right D. I dont think Nashville would have done a trade for Zaitsev and a pick and also retained 3 mill of Subbans salery. I thought Nylander might be a little stiff to pay for Subban but that why I had Nashville retaining a million of Subbans contract. I am not sure that Subban is declining he had an off season but I also think that Subban would be the best Defenseman avalible that would have no problem handling the Toronto media.
