No from Buffalo

I HATE seeing these Kadri trades, I understand he has messed up two playoffs in a row and he has good trade value because of his contract BUT the Leafs have ZERO good centers in their prospect pool and it doesn’t make much sense to go out and sign a UFA.

Well folks might hate trading Kadri. But with the Leafs cap situation....It just might have to be Kadri that is dealt.....maybe it's Nylander. If you're Leaf fan you hope it's Marleau and or Zaitsev. But if they can't be dealt, this forum is open to suggestions...

We're not dumping off risto. It's either we get value for him or keep our top 4 rd. Kap isn't worth risto by himself then you dump off most of zaitsevs contract in us, nah. But that's fine if you think risto is overrated, I'm fine with keeping him.

Look at all his stats. He's at best a #4 d-man and he's overpaid by about $2M.. that doesn't scream "value" to teams. That's why he hasn't been moved. Buffalo is likely asking far too much. They'll have to come down quite a bit if they really wanna move him. He's not that good of a player

His stats show that he's a pretty good power play qb. His gritty play style also adds to his value, but that doesn't show up in stats just the eye test which no one ever brings up because it doesn't fit the narrative.

I'm not gonna go the whole 100 yards with you. He's not that good. If he was, Buffalo wouldn't even consider trading him. Top 4 right handed d-man don't grow on trees, most teams don't trade the good ones if they have one. So if he was a good one, he wouldn't even be available

He isn't being shopped though. There are teams calling, not Buffalo calling other teams.

As a Buffalo fan, Risto isn't great. But he could be a good second pair d man with great PP value. His minutes just need to be managed. That said Buffalo needs more forward depth and have a log jam of d and some good d prospects in the system. So it's a big nope on this trade. Risto's value is higher that this trade. Plus there's no way Buffalo takes on the Zaitsev contract to help their rival sign Marner.
