Demers is a cap dump himself. Marleau is making 1.5 million cash compared to about 7 million cash for Demers as their third pairing RD. Seems like a win win to me

I really think signing Nylander handcuffed the team and killed momentum last year. I'm curious if teams were afraid to approach Toronto to see what the asking price for Nylander would've been. They should've somehow traded him, and keep building with what they had.

well if he's up for trade, his stock has definitely declined. EDM can definitely take advantage of that since they gotta move a couple of dmen to make room for the young guns coming and Toronto needs a legit t4 dman (like a larsson or Nurse)

Not only Nylander but making Matthews the 2nd higheasat player in the league. This is a crazy bad team IMO for the Flyers. If the madness continues, all teams are going to be at cap and the will have a bunch of players that can't be traded....all teams will be having this problem.

While they won't get a decent package back, they will probably be able to move him at 50%. The way his contract is structured, Year 2 of his Buyout is brutal. So while Smith and Staal remain distinct possibilities for a Buyout, they will likely avoid that scenario with Shattenkirk.
