With king Henrik as a backup, it doesn't matter when Quick inevitably gets injured because Lundqvist is extremely serviceable and they won't need to rush Quick back. Ladue is also a borderline NHLer so that would be a short term upgrade over Miller, and due to having so many young defenseman, the Rangers can afford to trade Miller.

Poehling is not "a phenomenal prospect". Hes good but hes not the centrepiece in a Kopitar trade. Plus LA gives up Grundström who was very solid for them?

Kopitar is way to old for us to give up that haul

Juulsen , Lindgren and our 15th overall straight up sure
it gives you a 1st round pick similar position to the one used to draft Kopitar
a top 4 RD to develop being Doughty and a goalie prospect .

outside that we'd throw in a Ikonen , Teasdale or Evans that are what we consider B+ center prospects.
if Kopitar was under 30 then maybe giving up Poehlings worth it but he's not .

The only piece in the Buffalo deal that makes me hesitate is 7OA. Doughty is great but his cap hit is nuts so I'd pass because you have 7OA in there.
