I can understand rejecting the trade, but Kadri is a 2C not a 3C.

I agree that Kadri is a 2C on a lot of teams, but it’s hard to say if he would actually usurp Trochek for the 2C spot.

Just because a player is not playing a certain slot on a team doesn't mean they aren't that good. Nobody in their right mind would call Malkin anything but a #1C. Kadri is a 2C, it doesn't matter if you have to play him as your #1C or if you have the luxury of somehow having him on your 4th line.

Yeah not moving Huberdeau and trochek is better than kadri so therefore he’d be a third line center on this team and with borgstrom developing, there would be no need for kadri on the cats. Toronto has zero pieces the cats would want that they’re willing to move. Panthers don’t need the offense they need defense and a goalie. So trading our best dman for offensive just takes 2 steps back.
