Truly I don't love this team, but i like the top 3 lines and the idea of signing Jacob Trouba, but Pens got some other things to work out before anything can be taken seriously.

Not saying the deal is fair (I think Pittsburgh has to add) but I will say that Jack Johnson is easily their worst defenseman, not Schultz. Kaprizov was drafted in the 5th round and he's one of the best prospects outside of the NHL right now. I'm not saying Almeida is as good as Kaprizov but devaluing someone with the argument that they were drafted in the 5th round isnt meaningful.

I don't watch enough Penguins games to really make that call so I was just going by the corsi/rel which Schultz's is the worst on the team among defensemen at -7.0 and Johnson is -5.6

Singular stats aren't as meaningful in hockey as they are in sports like baseball, it's really easy to cherry pick certain metrics that favor some players over others. Johnson looked worse than an AHL level defenseman this year, he was atrocious.
