There’s no doubt that the trading Strome for Spooner/Gagner was a mistake, but he was awful for the Oilers before they traded him. Like really really bad. What’s the rational behind trading 2 of our better prospects (one who was a first round pick 2 years ago) to bring him back? Didn’t work the first time

Strome was having a bad year when he was traded to the Rangers. While in Gotham he thrived as he was paired line mates who could actually score... this was the case on Long Island as well. By reacquiring Strome and putting him on Nudges wing, he’s in a position to succeed. Also, Strome has the hockey smarts to help the team - at worst he kills penalties and plays on the third line. The same can’t be said for Pullijarvi, who has shown nothing thus far in his career with 37 points in 139 NHL games. He is a rapidly depreciating asset. As for Benning, he’s proven himself to be no better than a third pairing guy, and with over 200 games played it looks like that’s what his ceiling is.

Or you can trade for Erik Haula or Cody Eakin for like a 2nd round pick and keep your young prospects. Could even sign Colin Wilson, or Donskoi since you are showing Strome on the wing. Not sure why you started talking about JP and Benning when guy asked you why you traded Bear and Yamamoto for Strome

Yamamoyo AND Bear for Strome? What a selfdestructive trade, egen worse than Chiarelli

You give more than you get in every trade, abd that 3rd line is really the worst 3ed line kn the leauge. I agree with you in trade for two new centers, but dont trade away two talents for one nhl player. Dont buy ouy Russel befire buying out Lucic.

Terrible management

No from Montreal, Puljujärvi *might* succeed with a change of scenery but he is trending in Yakubov territory for now, whereas Danault is a proven, reliable contributor who plays big minutes for the Habs.
