Cap inflation everyone and if you can score you get paid, not to mention he's a pending UFA. This is a goal scorers league, Skinner has been a consistent scorer in this league, he regresses to 25-25 and a 55-70 point pace it;s a fair deal. CAP INFLATION
Lmao 25 goal scorers don’t get paid 9 mill a year. Heck jake guentzel gets paid $6 mill and just scored 40 ??
I could go breaking it down, but its BUF thread, so i wont....
As could I.
Matthews is fairly compensated, as is Nylander. I expect the Marner deal to end up being something like 6@9.875 or something (a touch below 10), and If so that is fair compensation as well.
Skinner making more than Sid .... just makes me giggle ... Marner is about to break the Bank, ya'll

Skinner signed for 500k less than kucherov..... jake guentzel scored 40 and signed for 6 million ha man how some franchise get it and others don’t. Toronto is just as bad imo.
As bad as this seems and unless the details of the signing change, I see no NMC. So... He may be overpaid but if he doesn't work, he can find himself getting traded no strings attached.

I guess Kadri's next contract will be 8 x 11M after today ( regarding Cap rises and inflation )
Botterill playing 9001D galaxybrain-underwater chess over here, setting the FA bar and sabotaging other teams to overpay massively for their free agents /s
Leafs are screwed because of this. Marner’s twice the player skinner is
2017-19
Jeff Skinner has: More goals, better possession numbers and better expected goals
Mitch Marner has: More assists and p/60(again, driven up by assists)
I'm not saying the Skinner deal is good, but what I am saying is that 1) Goals are valued more in terms of money 2) Marner isn't great in his own end 5v5 3) He isn''t near a generational talent.
