I don't think the Dubas would waste his time and the Kings time unless Marleau had agreed to trade to LA. But Kings have enough cap problems....especially for a last place team, so I really don't see a fit.

This can't possibly makes any sense unless virtually equal cap is going back to Toronto. How can LAK possibly justify adding a 35+ vet of 6M+ after finishing as one of the worst teams in the league last year and clearly retooling/rebuilding? How can Marleau justify it to himself? Its not like he's back in San Jose. LAK are a team on the downward trend.

Maybe a Marleau for Kovalchuk deal could work but I don't see how that helps Toronto, if anything its worse. Who else could they justify? Phaneuf maybe? Anything other than those two guys offered for Marleau, should get Rob Blake shot out of a cannon IHMO. (Obviously if its a 1 vs 1 trade. if its a with picks and prospects, that changes everything)

Obviously this is my opinion only but LAK would be foolish to move anyone other than Kovy or Phaneuf or possibly Clifford+Lewis for Marleau straight up. If there is picks and prospects added to Marleau that changes everything obviously as that can be seen as a cap dump to get assets back. Im taking this at face value as Marleau for X player.
