i did answer that. why would you care where you don't have to go if you still get payed and it helps your favorite team. Marleau does not even come to buffalo in this scenario he literally just retires like it says in description and toronto get 6m$ in cap space at cost of a good pick.
Rask is still just 26 and Minnesota is retaining part of that contract. he is still nhl calaber player and good on PK, so looking a littler deeper than goals and assists when picking up bottom 6 players is very useful.
Yeah... Rask is so “useful” that u have him as the 13th forward
That’s just laughable
Even if he was on line4...
$3mil for a 4th liner is just way too much
And your Marleau scenario is bonkers
Let’s just assume that your ridiculous assumptions all play out
He’s a 35+ contract
So even if he were to retire with us,
that 6.25mil Cap hit STILL COUNTS
We aren’t taking that on...
and can’t in your scenario where we have less than 1mil in Cap Space
You also can’t “bury” a retired contract
There’s just so many things with this that are ridiculous and would never happen
“He Could Retire And We Could Trade His Cap Hit
He could, but...
If a player signs a multi-year contract when he is age 35 or older, that deal counts against the team’s salary cap whether he is playing or not. See article 50.2(c)(iv) of the CBA”

This whole scenario is just plain awful,
and there’s absolutely ZERO CHANCE it would happen
