Description
I know he is good, but I would rather offer sheet a guy that can also play center and score goals. we have plenty of playmaker on the team... but no one to finish them...

Marner will not have a 90pts season in MTL... because there is no Tavares to put it in.

On the other hand, we have guys to pass it to Point

You know that Toronto matches that right? Reportedly Marner is asking for $11.5 million+ So he's not signing a low-ball offer sheet from the Habs. Like i stated in others you'd need to offer him McDavid money for him to sign it.

You are doing this wrong, you are only allowed to offer sheet Leaf players.

This is the most sensible offer sheet I have seen on this site, although I would imagine TBay matches.

I don't know that Toronto would match Brayden Point's offer sheet, call me crazy...

Agreed. Tampa probably matches anything that doesn't net them the 4 x 1st. They've got enough young assets around to shed some of their cap issues.

I don't think Chicago makes that trade. While yes, Chicago *loves* getting back their old players, I don't think Shaw is worth Beaudin, a promising prospect. Maybe something like Perlini and a 4th for Shaw would be a better deal, since Perlini isn't really doing much defensively and he's a scorer, while Shaw is more of a grinder and agitator, something the Hawks kind of need, while Montreal gets a nice scoring piece to fit all their playmakers.

Point or Marner would be great for the Habs...
Imagine TB getting 4x1st round ans sign Panarin for the same amount than Point!

That sounds like a pretty awesome strategy that helps both in the now and future....

they sold him to us for two 2nd round pick, one of which became Debrincat, I know it doesn't matter at all.

anyway, trading him for cap relief and prospects

    Yes and no.
Tampa has 8.5 mil in cap space and 17 players signed aka 6 players needed to sign
I would use this as leverage to tampa to try to get Callahan and Sergachev (which i know is dreaming)
Tampa has Vasilevskiy, Joseph, Cirelli and Sergachev to resign next year (hard to see them signing for anything below 18 mil combined)
They have a projected 25mil cap space excluding the Point contract in 2020-2021.

Sooooo if i see this hopefully Berg is seeing this too .
