Oh Gawd... the Disneyland Bridge folks are out on MOMS day .. happy Moms day to all .. with Point .. there is ZERO chance of this .. why cant people face reality.. as an RFA it driven by compensation of OTHER teams .. not Tampa .. Tampa cant come in too low or they will lose him .. but not too high as they dont have to .. only to the point he is matched.. so really anyone can have Point for 4 #1s and over $10.5Mish a year .. over $8.5M to $10.5M .. 2#1s and a 2 and 3 .. THIS is the level which scares Tampa .. particularly if those picks are late in round .. a $10M offer I think is the one that causes equilibrium
- Point and his camp stated last october and again this march that they were open to both bridge deal or long term contract, as they know Tampa is in some kind of tight cap situation.
- You are reading way too much in the offer sheet myth IMO. This sums up the situation:
"If offer sheets had any rate of success, we would all be talking about the clear and present danger the Tampa Bay Lightning are facing with Brayden Point. He’s 22 years old, an absolute stud No. 1 centre and the Lightning are projected to have less than $10 million in available cap space for next season.
But does anyone really believe that Point can be convinced to leave a top team in an extremely desirable NHL city even with silly money on an offer sheet?"

The answer is no. Point loves it in Tampa, as he said multiple times, and he won't go away.
If he and his camp stated that they are willing to take a bridge deal (in case BriseBois decides to go that way) I don't see why he'd only look for long term contracts. Especially when in 2021 the new television rights should be signed, hence a big bump for the salary cap (and Seattle expansion draft will also make it go up). He'll make BIG money in 3 years if he goes for a bridge now.
