He is going to be on bog watch similar to arizona and buffalo until further notice as well due to being a new gm.

ATTENTION:

It is officially RFA extension time. as stated earlier you only get 1 per month and will have to agree upon the terms with a BOG memeber. Once a term and contract is agreed upon you can then post to the UFA/RFA Extension thread.

an example of how to post is below, please create one post and edit it was the months go on:

New York Rangers

2021 RFA Extensions:

April - Neal Pionk (5 years x $6,250,000 AAV)
May -

Good Morning Everyone,

First bit of news, after discussing with @Rodzikhockey93, he will be switching roles with his agm @NR1203 due to his current inactivity in the game. Donny has not been fired, he has not quit, he has just stepped down as gm for the time being. This also means Donny is officially an agm and can choose to be an agm for whichever team he would like... and obviously Nanda (nram1203 on twitter) has been promoted to take over the team. This will act as a trial run for Nanda to see if he has what it takes to be a gm for gm game and similar to arizona, he will have all accepted trades approved by bog until we know he will be all good on his own. He is currently working on getting the page set up, and will be taking a couple days to assess what direction he would like to take the team and what the best way to do that will be.

Donny let us know when you have time again and we will see whats available for gm positions at that time and go from there.

Everyone else make sure you follow nanda on twitter, drop him a message etc, as he will be the new buffalo gm.

Last bit of news, we are discussing the RFA/UFA extensions and what the best way to proceed is. Stay tuned for more info likely to follow this current week.

Thank you for the cooperation and understanding,

Will Hopefully become more involved in the game again by next season. Will keep involved in the community and looking at the progression in the game. In the event a new mode has occurred such as a V5. I would like to be notified

Attention ALL GMS! See the Link below for draft pick ownership for 2021. Did my best piecing this together with @habsfan77 who went through every team page to see what 2021 picks were missing vs who owned what. The ones highlighted in Yellow are picks that either multiple teams claimed they owned, or no team owned. What we believe to be the correct team is now the team shown in this chart. Any questions feel free to reach out. I will be contacting a couple gms today via dms to go over compensation for trades where they/their team didnt have the pick to trade away. If you believe you own a pick that is shown as another team owning it. please dm me with a screenshot of the trade where you acquired that pick and i will track again from that date.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1I9HvrsV34AbTH-AD-pI6DtRW5mkdf6XgyVpnkHktYrs/edit#gid=1877591260

In other news. To make this process easier in the future....... besides the obvious try to keep updated pages....... we would like everyone to make the posting of moves to be uniform. Everybody does the same process. So for any players being moved, whether thats waivers, trades, etc post the player and the current contract. I know alot have been doing this part recently and we appreciate your efforts to do so, but going forward it helps track who got what wrong and when. Also when it comes to draft pick trading please use the Abbreviated name of the teams pick you have for example (BOS) 21 5th or (LAK) 22 3rd. A couple of us were typing the full name or using other abbreviations like (kings) or (panthers) and it was already time consuming going through 37 pages one time for each time never mind multiple times with different identifiers. If everyone is doing the same thing in the threads its easier to search them and find the right picks going forward, so we just ask that you try and keep this in mind while trading and use the abbreviations.

As the regular season comes to a close, we want to announce that we will be issuing stat corrections at the end of the year. The purpose of this is to prevent teams that have deliberately iced their weakest lineups benefit from tanking. This includes teams that have injured players in their lineup that do not score in that given month, players who are not on NHL rosters being scored, prospects not being called up, etc. Any team that is determined to benefit more from having a weaker lineup than a stronger one, will be subject to these corrections. Below is a rough estimate of our procedure.

- Any player that is in the lineup and not did not play in that given scoring period will be removed. Healthy scratches and players in the minors who did score during that period will fill the openings.
- The scoring style will be adjusted to “Balanced” for teams that have multiple openings to keep the line multiplier constant.
- If there is a player who does not score and is above others in the lineup, we will bump those players up one line and have a healthy scratch / player in minor / prospect fill the opening spot. We will not adjust the scoring style if we are only bumping players.
- We will only fill the lineup, healthy scratch positions will not be filled.

More information will come out as we wrap up the regular season. We anticipate some movement with the bottom-10 teams and their lottery placement.

Any questions or further clarification can be directed to @QBCv4GM on Twitter

Good Afternoon Everyone, with the regular season ending tomorrow we wanted to get a heads up on events happening within the next month or so and a timeline for those events.
We will pull final season stats 5/20 to allow for the final games worth of data to be processed by NST. This final scoring period will determine playoff matchups. Playoffs will be week long periods ranging from saturday to friday starting this weekend 5/22. The rounds will proceed as follows: First Round: 5/22 - 5/28, Second Round: 5/29 - 6/4, Final 4: 6/5 - 6/11, Stanley Cup: 6/12 - 6/18. Voting will end on Wednesday nights. New matchups and all voting results will be posted on Friday. The lottery date exact date has not been decided yet but will likely fall between rounds 2 and 3. The NHL Entry draft will begin starting at 10AM EST 6/25 (Friday morning fyi).

Couple quick notes, you should set your playoff lineups asap this will include all areas (forward, defense, goalie, pp, pk) as voting will begin on saturday and your round 1 lineup will "lock" friday at midnight. You are allowed to change your lineups round to round. Injuries will be dealt with on a case by case basis. The GM must PROVE FACTUALLY the player would be back in time during your matchup to be considered for that round. You are doing the research not us. For example: If I search dylan larkin injury, I get out for season. I cannot get any further information on how bad the injury actually is, what the injury is, or what the timeline would be for that injury. Larkin would be ineligible for the playoffs since I cannot find any evidence he would be back by 5/22. This may change if I advance and more data becomes available but until then he is ineligble for the playoffs.

Voting is the most important part of our playoffs and should be taken seriously. We have increased the luck %(roughly 25%) for matchups this year so there may actually be some upsets due to that. There may be instances where someone is a clear cut favorite, dominates the vote, but loses the sim based on the luck matchup. It will likely affect a series or 2 if not more. Just know, nobody is out to get you, we are trying to make the playoffs as real as possible without starting them a month early there should be upsets naturally and as has been proven in prior years that typically isnt the case when straight voting occurs. The highest and lowest votes per series are not taken into account for series voting. You also cannot vote on your own matchups or on matchups whose first round pick you hold. Voting is exclusive to GM's only sorry agm's you can voice your input to your gm's but it is ultimately their call. Lastly, this is new for this year but we thought it was a necessary addition... being this is one of the most important times and arguably the only time of "required" appearances in gm game... IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VALID EXCUSE FOR MISSING A VOTE PRIOR TO/DURING VOTING AND YOU MISS VOTES YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SPOT AS GM FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS IT. We have it currently set up where you can vote saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday that should be plenty of time to get a spot in. Voting shouldnt take that long. We should be able to achieve 100% voting from this group of gm's. If you dont want to vote or are too lazy to care you will be replaced in the offseason with someone who does.

Playoff lineup set. Unreal C depth with a 1-2 punch of Bennett-Domi. Nobody getting in my way.....

The Regular Season has concluded and we have finalized the scoring for this year, as well as the stat corrections. The v4.2 Stat Corrections link is the final scoring with corrections. The v4.2 Team Corrections link is each team that had corrections with the original scoring and adjusted scoring by each month side by side on the team specific tab.
v4.2 Stat Corrections
v4.2 Team Corrections

A reminder that playoff lines lock today, with voting beginning tomorrow. It is required that you vote unless you have a good reason to miss it. If you have any concerns, sent one of the BOG a message on Twitter. As mentioned earlier, here is the time table for playoffs and the draft:

First Round (Quarter Finals): 5/22 - 5/28
Second Round (Semi Finals): 5/29 - 6/4
Third Round (Conference Finals): 6/5 - 6/11
Fourth Round (Stanley Cup): 6/12 - 6/18

Lottery Reveal: TBD (tentatively between Rounds 1 and 2)
Entry Draft: 6/25 @ 10 AM Eastern.

For the Lottery, we were planning to continue what we did last year with the drawing happening privately and then having a reveal similar to IRL where we start at 16 and make our way down to 1. As before, AK and I usually handle the drawing, with confirmation that everything is properly randomized and on the up-and-up. We will record the entire lottery drawing and have procedures to ensure that nothing is illegitimate.

If anyone has any questions, input, or concerns about the stat corrections, playoff voting, or the lottery, reach out to one of the BOG guys.

We just created a thread pertaining to Trade Conditions to make it easier to follow some of the conditions as its laboring to go back through each post to see what they are. If you have a trade condition that has yet to be satisfied or will be satisfied in this current draft please make a post in that section stating what your trade was, who it was with, the condition surrounding the pick, and what you the trade scenarios are if the condition is or isnt met. Thank you for your cooperation.

Why doesn't he just wait until after our draft to make the new page...no sense making it just to have it go away in a month or less.

Some announcements and rule proposals. Once the voting on UFA and Offer Sheets is completed, trades should open up.

Unrestricted Free Agency
Point System (AAV * Term = Points) ----> Weighted Point System & Lottery

The weighted point system with the lottery will act as a way to provide realistic, exciting, and way to optimize the best offers. The offers will be the same - you submit 8M x 4 years for Alex Ovechkin - but instead of it being 32 points, the AAV and Term will be multiplied by a weight, which is determined based upon the other offers. Here is an example of six contracts for Alex Ovechkin (the points in parentheses are the values of the original point system, the offers are listed in most points in the new system).

$12.000 x 1 years (12.00 | 8.9063)
$10.000 x 2 years (20.00 | 7.7500)
$9.250 x 3 years (27.75 | 7.4922)
$9.000 x 2 years (18.00 | 7.0313)
-------------------------------------------
$8.000 x 4 years (32.00 | 6.8750)
$8.250 x 3 years (24.75 | 6.7734)
$7.500 x 3 years (22.50 | 6.2344)

Average AAV: 9.14M
Average Term: 2.57 years
AAV Weight: 0.7188 (1 - (2.57 / 9.14))
Term Weight: 0.2813 (2.57 / 9.14)

The top-three offers would then be entered into a lottery draw - with their percentage of the total share of points equaling their chances of winning that player. Team A would have a 37% chance, Team B 32% chance, Team C 31% chance. The 5% and 10% bonus for home teams still apply in the initial calculations.

Negotiation Points:
Each team will have 7 “negotiation points” that can be allocated to their offers equal to the number of years of their offer. These points will be added to the final point total of the offer. For example, if my offer for Alex Ovechkin in the above scenario is 8M x 4 years, I can add up to 4 negotiation points to my offer. My total points above increases from 8.875 to 12.875. Teams can allocate their points as they wish, however, once they are used they are gone, regardless of if the player is awarded to that team. They can be spent on one player on a 7 year deal or multiple players as long as they do not exceed 7 points used. This element allows for some human aspects to teams - “more playing time, better lifestyle, etc.” during negotiations. Basically all aspects of IRL that we cannot be accounted for or influenced in our offers will be through negotiation points.

Offer Sheets
Starting in the offseason of 2022-23, we propose the introduction of Offer Sheets. Each team will have the opportunity to exclusively sign one RFA (similar to the one UFA extension), with all others being eligible to be offer-sheeted. We are still in the process of working out the timeline for how RFAs will happen, but we anticipate that they will occur after the playoffs and before the UFA period opens up. The owning - “home” - team will submit their offer for their players and all other teams - if they are able to provide compensation - will do the same as the players become available on the given day. Teams will not be able to offer multiple contracts with overlapping compensation.

We will use a point system similar to the one outlined above, but without the lottery. The home team offer and the best market offer (both of which are structured based on the point system), will be compared. If the market offer is 20% or greater in points, the home team will have an opportunity to match that offer. If they decline, they will be awarded compensation. If the market offer is not 20% or greater than the home team offer, there is no offer-sheet and the home team offer wins.

With this news and the knowledge of deals prematurely involving 2023 draft selections - which are not eligible to be traded until the conclusion of the 2021 Draft, we will allow a period prior to the opening of trades for teams to re-negotiate and confirm their deals before being officially posted.

For both the UFA and Offer Sheet proposals, we will need 70% (23 / 32) GMs for this to be approved. Please vote using this link:
https://forms.gle/kQioPwLanocEK4jcA

Retired Players and Cap Implications
Players who are effectively retired or contracts of players who were bought out IRL, are no longer playing, and are still active contracts are no longer eligible to be counted towards the Cap Floor. They are eligible to be placed on LTIR, but cannot be used to reach the floor by either being on IR or in the lineup.

Scoring Lineup Requirements
Starting in 2021-22, teams will be required to ice a minimum of 18 active players in the NHL. Failure to achieve this will result in penalties to be determined - fine of draft picks, reduced lottery odds, etc. Some exceptions will be made (if a regular starter becomes injured and your team does not have players or cap space to make appropriate call ups, if you having 18 skaters would result in exceeding the cap ceiling, etc.) Tanking will not be accepted and scoring adjustments will be made as necessary.

Free Agency Bonus
Starting in 2021-22, any upcoming UFA who is acquired after the trade deadline cannot be exclusively resigned. The 5% bonus for players acquired after the deadline will remain, as well as the 10% for those before the deadline.

Future Considerations
Starting immediately, Future Considerations are no longer eligible to be synonymous with “nothing” or “the expectation of nothing”. Any deal involving Future Considerations here on out will be assumed to have some actual consideration in the future. If you want to make a deal that has the expectation of nothing returned, we suggest making a conditional pick with an unrealistic condition with no expectation of occurring (conditional 7th round pick conveys if Player XYZ scores 200 points in the 2021-22 season).

Clerical Details
We are in the process (again) of creating a “megasheet” that will have and streamline all contract information, trades, draft picks, etc. In the coming weeks, we will ask that teams input all their roster and reserves, with ALL details (retained salary, expire status, reserve deadlines, etc.). Our timeline is that after the draft, there will be a period where rosters will be frozen until this is completed. Once you have correctly and accurately entered your data, you will be eligible to resume trading with other GMs, participate in FA, and so on. This process will allow for the game to have a well documented and easily accessible database with all relevant information to teams, especially when GM turnover is frequent.

In addition, we will be identifying proper trade formats for this process. We do not have anything solidified yet, however, this is the necessary format until otherwise noted:

Hello All!!

Starting tomorrow AM we are going to start the UFA exclusive extensions. What we are asking every GM to do is to please post your team LOGO and which player you plan on extending in the RFA/UFA Extension Thread. Once you have posted the BOG will be in contact to negotiate a contract.

When a contact is agreed upon you can edit the original post with the updated contract length and AAV.

The deadline to post is June 30th @ Midnight EST (If you do not post a player you lose the UFA extension)

* Note: Once you pick a player you cannot switch to another player*

Example of post:

Washington Capitals

A MESSAGE FOR ALL GM GAME GMs

I need to ask a small favor from each of you.
When you create a new team page, as soon as you publish it please go to the comment section and @ me so I get notified and can more easily find the page.

What you may not know is the page can only be moved from a certain area of CF and as an example if you "published" your new team more than 5 hours of notifying me, it can literally get buried 20+ pages deep making me scroll through page after page just to find it. Even when each of you send me a "link" that doesn't direct me to the proper place in order to move it over.

Making the first comment on your page @flamesfan419 will take me directly to the page in the section I can move it from....saving a whole lotta time.

In addition, we will be identifying proper trade formats for this process. We do not have anything solidified yet, however, this is the necessary format until otherwise noted:

:trade partner team logo
Players (Full Names, properly spelled)
Draft Picks

:your team logo
Players [ Full Names, properly spelled ]
Player Rights [ Full Names, properly spelled ]
Draft pick [ Full Year (2021, 2022) | Round (1st, 2nd, 3rd) | Team Abbrv. (ARI, STL, NYR) ]

Example:
Edmonton Oilers
Charlie Coyle
Brendan Brisson
2021 1st QBC

Quebec Nordiques
Conor McDavid

The UFA rule passed and the Offer Sheet rule was denied. Please follow the posting guidelines and edit your posts to make sure it's correct. If you have any questions, shoot me a message. Some of the FAQ: guys with contracts are normal text. Guys that are rights (reserves, RFA, or UFA) are italicized. Please don't add "UFA rights, RFA rights" etc. It needs to be exactly the format as above otherwise it'll make everything 10x harder to correct and fix.

There may have been a little confusion on draft eligibility dates. For clarification.

Anyone with a birthday between Jan 1, 2001 and Sept 15 2003 for NA born players are draft eligible for 2021 gm game draft. Anyone born in 2000 and undrafted non- NA born players are eligible for the draft. Players who were drafted in 2019 and not signed by a team who were born AFTER june 30 2001 are also eligible to re-enter the draft.

Re: Megasheet Input

At the conclusion of the draft, we will be starting our roster and trade freeze. We will be sending out a sheet later tonight / early tomorrow that each team must complete accurately before they are eligible to make trades, participate in free agency, etc. The purpose and goal of this will allow every member of the game access to one sheet that will host contract details, upcoming free agents, etc. so that teams have correct information on players whose in game contracts differs from real life. This will also allow to have the most up-to-date contract and reserve numbers for each team, and to ensure that transactions make the team remain cap compliant.

More information about the details for inputting information will be posted with that google sheet.

Any questions, reach out.

As mentioned, we will be starting to allow teams to input their team information so we can have everything in one centralized place. Below are instructions and if you have any questions, please reach out. Completion is required and failure to properly and accurately complete will result in being unable to trade, participate in free agency, etc.

Here is the link to the spreadsheet: Link

Input Team
This column is where you put your team abbreviation. We need the abbreviation at every spot you have a player or reserve so we can tell who started with which player. Refer to the example or the QBC tab if you want to see how it should look.

Signing Year
This column is where you select when your contract was signed. The options are Original, 2021, or Reserve. ANY contract that was signed before the game started, entry level contracts, or an extension/free agent signing from 2019-2020 will be marked "Original". Contracts signed from this year's RFA and UFA negotiations will be marked "2021". All reserve players are reserves.

Player
This column is where you select / input your player. The drop-down list is the list of players who were scored from this previous season. If their name appears, please select that one to ensure accurate spelling. If the name does not appear, enter in that player with accurate spelling. This will help us down the road when we need to have cap hits and scoring. You'll need your roster and reserve players in this column.

AAV
This column is where you input the original deal's AAV into that column. If a player on your team has retained salary - ex. Max Pacioretty (5.25M) - this column should show 7M, since the retaining information is needed in the next columns. This includes contracts that were traded before the game started with retained salary (Phil Kessel, example). You only need to enter in the value, don't enter in 7M, or 7.25M. If the contract is 7M, input 7000000. The formatting in the column will automatically adjust. If you have an upcoming UFA - example Artem Anisimov - place his most recent years AAV into this column.

Term Remaining
This column is where you input the term remaining on the deal. If the contract has 4 years left, put 4 years. If the contract is an upcoming UFA for this offseason, put 0 years. The formula for when the contract expires will show 2021 and then we can create a list of all UFAs for this year, as well as the upcoming years.

Retained Salary Team Abbv & AAV
These column is where you put the team that retained on a player on your roster and the corresponding AAV. In the Max Pacioretty example, the team would input PIT since they were the team that retained, and 1.75M (1750000 is the input), would be the AAV. This will help us keep track of if teams have too many retained players on their roster, if they retained on too many players, and make sure the cap hits of each team are accurate.

Expire Status
This column is where you select if the contract player expires UFA or RFA. Please consult the CBA FAQ for more details regarding player's expire status. For reserves, this is where you manually input the date that their rights expire. These can be found on the CF draft boards, located under the Tools tab. This column is formatted like a date so you just need to input it as 8/15/23 or 8-15-23.

2019-2020 Signings Tab
Please refer to this tab to confirm that your contracts on your page match the ones here. We'll have to take time to audit all of the contracts, but it would take far less time if errors are caught by you since you have that contract information. Any concerns can be shared with the BOG and we will figure out which contract is accurate.

Any questions, please reach out. Again, we need this to be accurate and complete for the game's sake.

UPDATE

Do not include 2021 draft picks under your reserves. We can add those back once the dates are more easily accessible.

Thank you to everyone for inputting your contracts into the database sheet! This will make our game work so much better and help everyone in the long run. We will be sharing that sheet soon. Everyone is eligible to trade but Chicago since they haven't completed their sheet yet. Here are some updates:

We are in the process of naming a STL GM. That should happen in the next few days.

We will be posting the schedule for UFA and that process after naming an STL GM. Same kinda format as the previous years --> send your bids to the designated member the day of, results posted the night / morning after. Don't post bids early, all bids are final, all winners are final (you cannot reject a contract once you've won it).

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ANY RFAs LEFT UNSIGNED BY FRIDAY, JULY 16 at 11:59 PM EASTERN, THEY WILL BECOME UFAs. [ excluded from the list is Dallas and St. Louis, due to new GM additions ]

Thank you all for your hard work, but we've now added a new feature to this game that will make our lives so much easier and help attract new members.
