Why do you need to move the Horton contract? He's LTIRetired, so you can get his hit off of the books.

Figured they might...... but unless they can offload the Turris/Subban deals they might get too snug to the cap..... I thought about going higher $2.25 ish, and giving up the 2nd rd pick; but then would necessitate no Sundquist

in the off season you can only go 10% over the cap , so in case they need to do this with Hyman 2.25 + Marleau 6.25 they would need to move the contract

I don't think the Canes need a $7 mill winger when they are a game away from the conference finals. Marner will want $10 + as well.

StL counters with keep Gardiner's rights and they keep Sunqvist's rights and you have a deal...

Carolina passes. They just re-sign Mrazek and McElhinney. If you are interested in Darling they are open for discussion.

          Canes get:
          30+ Goal scoring winger
under 30 Goalie (they have no goalies signed right now)
          dump the Darling $

If they win a Cup and Justin williams retires, and Ferland leaves as a UFA they may need a winger

RE Marner: its a 2 year bridge, anything 4+ years gets over $10 i agree

STL will need to pay Binnington, they then also get to dump Allens $, and also need to sign Fabbri/Barbashev/Dunn in 2 years/Edmundson
with O'rielly/bozak/schenn at C, do they continue to push R. Thomas down or open up a spot for him by trading Sunny?

Maybe they sign Mrazek, but how much, and how long and are they really sold on him carrying 55+ games a year..... and do they want to keep paying darling for nothing?

Why would the Rangers want to pay Darling to do nothing??

If Car wants Jake Allen call StL.

Brown had 1year better than Sunqvist just had. And StL is wants no part of Gardiner.

Who is this 30+ goal scoring winger?? The highest scoring winger the Leafs had was Marner. He had 26.

Nylander has never scored 30 goals. Can't carry his own line so far in his career.
Jake Allen is not a starter, rather sign a UFA.
Pesce is on a team friendly contract, him and Slavin have formed one of the best showdown defense pair in the league. How does this trade improve Carolina?

Pesce for Nylander is a more than fair starting off point

If the Canes need a winger or center they can get one July 1st. Pesce is on a team friendly contract, and has formed one of the best shutdown pairings in the league with Slavin.
