Équipe: 2019-20 Flyers de Philadelphie
Date de création initiale: 15 mars 2019
Publié: 15 mars 2019
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Signings:
Curtis McElhinney—> 35 yr old goaltender helps give carter hart a veteran mentor who can help him develop at the NHL level
Artemi Panarin—> Helps round out the top 6 forward group for the Flyers. Adds speed and scoring on the top line while shifting Giroux to second line Center to help get scoring on that line

Trades:
Flyers<—>Leafs
Helps gives leafs right shot d they need while getting a B level right shot D prospect and a young top 9 forwrd to help with third line scoring.

Flyers<—>Devils
Helps the flyers get a top 4 d that can play in his own end and still put up 30-40 points. Helps round out the top 4 d for the flyers while getting rid of Macdonalds $5.5 million aav for his final year. Also giving a first, and third round picks, along with forward prospect Matthew Strome(top 6 forward projections)

Flyers<—>Canadians
Trade helps get philly a top 6 forward and Mid 6 Center to round out the middle six lines. In the trade going Montreal’s way is Nolan Patrick who really hasn’t shown that he can become an elite player in the league in both this year and last year. Selling high on Patrick can help the phillys aquire goal scoring for cheap and a playmaking Center. The value is probably off but nothing more than Patrick and a second or Patrick, and a second and third round pick.

I think NJD say no but the other two could work, only thing is would change on leafs trade is a little retention and then a pick going the other way because the leafs need cap relief and can’t afford to pay 3.5 to a #4 Defenseman

What would you add to the devils deal to make them say yes? Change the third to a second? Just add a second? Retain a little salary off of MacDonald?

Well I would think severson is worth Strome and a first and maybe more because he is young and locked up, so taking back Macdonald for a third doesn’t make sense for NJD, maybe if it was a better prospect (idk the flyers system) and the third was a second then it would be more like -better prospect and 2nd for Severson, taking Macdonald contract for a first

Patrick was picked 2nd overall less than 2 years ago, Gally is a good player but worth more than Patrick? Not a chance

I think I improved the trade seconding them a d prospect (B level prospect), Strome still (B+/A- level prospect) a first, and second round pick and still MacDonald to clear about $1 million of cap

Yeah I like these trades now, very well done imo, the Habs fan who commented about that trade doesn’t seem to know much about hockey

I can agree with him to some extent because he only put up 30 points in his first year and he got injured and Same with this year he only has 30 points and he got hurt earlier in the year but again he still has upside and was 2nd overall and Montreal still needs a Center because none have panned out they way they hoped. I also think like with many guys in the nhl a change of scenery can really help propel your career and give you a restart that you probably need

I see it as a 20 y.o center with 30 points but a potential for a lot more and a valuable draft pedigree vs. A 26 y.o (will be 27 at time of trade) winger with 46 points already at his ceiling, there is no question who has more value and it’s not the guy wearing a toilet seat on his chest.... that last part was just rude but you see my point

Haha as a leafs fan I can agree with the toilet seat thing? it may be plain old rude and disrespectful but you gotta have a little fun once in awhile. And I do see your point to me that’s a fair trade but Montreal might ask for a third to be added or even a C/B level prospect to be added and at that point if I’m phillys managment I would do it Gallagher can still score he has had back to back 30 goal seasons and danault is still only 26 and can be a 40 point guy. As long as I’m only adding a third or a C level prospect at best I would be fine to budge other than that the trade is fair and just to add to this thanks for actually having a convo with me to discuss this because half the time people just show up like the mtl Fan and say that trade sucks, your stupid, don’t ever make theses again, you have no hockey knowledge, damn I even had someone get so mad as to call me a 13 yr old ?

There are many reasons that it's doubtful Montreal would rush to trade Gallagher, but Gallagher for Patrick has the makings of a decent hockey trade, giving both teams something they need now. For the Flyers it's a guy who comes to play every night and knows his role. For the Habs, it's a quality first-line forward who still has a lot of growing to do. Danault isn't going anywhere for a while as he's the most responsible centreman Montreal has and he's a Francophone who's happy to play in Montreal and doesn't buckle under the pressure.

As for the toilet seat comment, meh. Thanks for coming out tho.....

The toilet seat thing was kinda good you gotta admit that. It’s not something that you hear everyday about the habs logo
