Lets face it, at this stage Lundqvist needs to move in order to win. With Makar, Hughes/Kaapo, and improvements to Girard Zadorov, Jost, Kaut, Kamenev etc the Avs are building a very deep and talented team.

I would love it if Kerfoot, Zadorov and Compher signed for that amount. I see both Kerf and Comph being at least 3.5 mil and Zadorov being over 4.5 for sure.

I don’t think Lundqvist is leaving NY until maybe his final year of his contract. So far he hasn’t wanted to move. Maybe by then he will want to go to a contender even just to be a backup to get his name etched on Lord Stanley

Lundqvist might be willing to waive to go to a true contender. He may not feel the move to Colorado fits his lifestyle and that the Avs aren't the team that gives him a true shot at the Cup.
