Stupid Idea Wild Side

Description
I'm trying to figure out a way to get players I like from Edmonton and make it work cap-wise. If Lucic's contract was a year or two shorter, I wouldn't hesitate acquiring him while the Wild rebuild...but 4 years of him is daunting. As always, I'm trying to start a conversation here...rip away!
P.S. Staal to be moved at the deadline - just didn't want focus taken away from this trade.
Transactions
MIN
  1. Draisaitl, Leon
  2. Lucic, Milan
  3. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2019 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
I realize there is a lot to digest here, but am I even in the ballpark value-wise here???
EDM
  1. Granlund, Mikael
  2. Spurgeon, Jared
  3. Zucker, Jason
Détails additionnels:
I think Spurgeon now qualifies as a bonafide superstar! He is, without question, a top 10-15 d-man in the NHL. Granlund and Zucker would make McDavid better. Taking Lucic's contract has a ton of value...just not sure how much. Puljujarvi is a crap-shot/lottery ticket. I think he's a can't miss NHL player, but have no idea where his floor and ceiling are. The 1st rounder can (if necessary) be 1OA protected. If the Oilers get the 1OA, the Wild would then get their next 2 - 1st round picks. Fair??? Maybe next year's 1st and 2nd? I don't know...

IMHO, enough with the mega super duper big trades....... Trade each guy separately and get the 1st and a prospect for them each. Not a top 10 point scorer in the NHL, a former 4th overall pick whose only 20 and a pick that may very well be Jack Hughes. Even with Lucic included, that is a mind boggling amount of value going to Minny.

IMO, Draisaitl, PulJujarvi and EDM's 1st could and should land you just about any one player in the league. (Value wise) Adding Lucic to it definitely degrades some of that value but my goodness, to a team that has the cap space, taking on Lucic isn't that big of a problem when considering the return.

I really like Draisaital but he’s played on Mcdavids wing for almost the whole season and when he’s played Center he kinda is not the same obviously Draisaital would be huge for a true #1 Center but like what I stated I don’t think Draisaital can man his own line and trade is pretty good value wise.

Fair enough. I did, however, make the 1st protected if it's the 1OA pick. The reason I continue to experiment with colossal deals like this with the Oilers is because both teams need monster dynamic shifts...and have pieces and parts that make sense to both sides. Would you prefer I break this deal down to 3 or 4 separate trades?

I just did my own Minny AGM and traded individually. Honestly, Minny is in great shape but they need to act fast. Start this year and by the end of next years draft, they could have very well rebuilt the entire team.

As for EDM, elite players coming in on ELC's are exactly what they need. They can't afford to trade them. Even if its Kakko instead of Hughes. They need that player regardless. There is no quick fix in EDM. They need to try and contend with what they have and hope that prospects fill in the holes. Hopefully by the time they do, fat contracts like Lucic, Russell, Sekera, etc are oof the books and replaced with Bouchard, Yamamoto, 2019 1st rounder, etc. Plus if they can turn Puljujarvi into a second chance prospect with almost equal potential like lets say, Juolevi or Zacha or something like that, they'll be ok. I wouldn't sacrifice any youth if I were EDM. They need to be patient due to Chiarelli's terrible management.
