Hear me out.......As it stands, The JETS will have 7F & 3D, 1G under contract after 2018/19 season. They will have roughly $27,000,000 to spend on 5F, 3 D, 1G. Seems easy, if those players didn't include, Laine, Connor, Trouba, Meyers.
We Take Perrault's contract, and Laine as the prize, and give up a 1st, our top prospect, and 2 experienced, defensive forwards who can also put points on the board....ALL while giving enough cap room to sign everyone you need. Not only that, a couple smart moves away from the JETS being able to sign a more reliable elite forward in Mark Stone.
I only thought of this given Laine's struggles and rumours of him giving attitude to the coach/team.
Just a pipedream, but really not that unfair of a deal.
i'm a habs fan and honestly you guys need to stop .
unless its offersheets WPG will 100% get rid of Trouba's rights in a trade to get rid of Perrault and bring back a solid LD in return .
RD like Trouba are more coveted and i have little doubt that in Sergachev's diminished role after he lost coach Coopers Trust costing the team a game after going after the ref and getting a penalty the opponents scored on (3 weeks later Mcdonugh was brought in and Sergachev's minutes cut .)
Trouba gives TBL a legit top 4 for best in the world status .
Sergachev gives Byfluglien a young d with size and a chip on his shoulder to mold into a responsible player like Hainsey did for him and Enstrom in ATL and WPG .

If they trade Trouba for futures and replace him internally with a cheap option they don't even need to dump Perreault or Kulikov, way too much is being made of the Jets cap crunch. I bet Laine is gonna sign a one or two year 'show me' bridge deal for a bit less then everyone thinks he's gonna get and Connor will get a long extension for around $6.75-7.
I like your ideas, I'd be pretty happy if they traded Trouba for Sergachev.
