I think MTL would need to add more. Kesler is still a shutdown Defensive Center with Selke qualities. Does he get paid too much...YES Absolutely... Alzner is an AHL player though. Slight advantage to the MTL in the swap. Then would Jake Evans/Mike Reilly/2nd rounder get Cam Fowler...NO not close.

Kesler is a cap dump.

on tape to tape podcast last week, they discussed kesler. his hips have been greatly damaged. he could play, but prob not a full 82 games, and most likely as a 4c, maybe even 3c. he is a pure cap dump. but i belive he has a ntc, so it depends on him if he wants to be moved. correy perry could be guy that mtl could acquire and buuy out while getting an elite asset as well

Easy no for me I dont think Fowler is worth taking on Kessler. He is signed long enough and for enough money that it could cause caps issues in the future and is a shell of the player he used to be. I would consider taking on Perry's contract because it is 1 year shorter and he is not as bad although he is also pretty washed up.

Not a fan of any of those teams. Respectfully, I don't think Montreal touch this. At least Alzner isn't buyout proof. Both Perry and Kesler, I think, have a no buy-out contract. Eaves could be more realistic as a cap dump, but not sure if Anaheim really wants to lose an asset for nothing. And with Gardiner UFA this summer, you can sign him for free and he doesn't have the injuries history of Fowler. And they're both second pairing offensive D. Or even Oesterle, not as good but he is efficient.
