Are these EA Sports trade offers? .. there's no point in trading the same round of a pick for the same round unless it's at the draft. And even then it depends on the position of the picks. Terrible value on the deals. Montreal is quite heavily winning both.

I think McNabb could be a target for Montreal. He's a solid, physical defensemen that's on a great contract. That being said, Vegas is looking to win now so it won't come cheap, I'd say start with Victor Mete and a second for just McNabb. Even then, Montreal should probably add in a young roster forward or a forward prospect. The Jake Muzzin trade could be a good comparable. Muzzin is much better than McNabb but McNabb has a better contract so it evens it out more.

As for Edmunson, I don't know much about him but I hear he's a very underrated guy. So again I'd probably say a 2nd and a good prospect gets him.

You ask for a top pairing (top four pairing on some teams) LHD who has a record for shutting down other teams' top scorers for a LHD prospect who has yet to crack the NHL in what..four years? You throw in Hudon who we have plenty of (see Stevens, Nolan; Musil, Adam; Bleackley, Connor, et al). Then you want to toss in a 6'5" guy whose best attribute is his penalty minutes. Swap 5th round nothing picks and that's a deal? That stinks, my friend.

Fleury and Armia are both unavailable. I get Edmunson is a good defender, but this doesn't make sense for Montreal nor does it really make sense to St.Louis, They don't need more depth guys.

MTL don't want McNabb, we need a top2 (or top4) TWD with offensive abilities.

In that respect, Edmunson brings no value either. We have enough Top6 Dmen.

I agree with you that those two guys are likely unavailable, but Eddy does nothing fancy on the stat sheet, but he consistently shuts down his assignments. I disagree that a top four pairing solid defenseman who is cheap wouldn't make sense for Montreal or any other teams. Every team needs a shut down guy, but you can make the valid argument that Weber is already that guy. It was just a thought. Good post, my friend.

I'm not saying that getting Edmunson is unreasonable, I am saying that getting him for Lehkonen and Armia is unreasonable.
