Tarasenko is likely not getting traded anymore, not while he’s playing his best hockey in 2 years. Even if they were to trade him, they wouldn’t have done it unless they received a ridiculous return.

You could start that way, STL gets back 3/4 of Bostons top prospects including the hometown kid in Frederic. It would be hard to do without Debrusk but this is one scenario that it could in my opinion.

Blues are not moving Tank.

You have overpaid for everyone else.

You have no depth.

And you put yourself in a position where you don’t have the cap space to sign Mac, Carlo, Chara, Jalmy or their replacements next year without trading 1 or more assets that you can no longer replace from within if you do. Trouble.

better win now because the future is bleak.

Do you really think Chara wants to play another year? I have no idea, which is why I ask.

I doubt it. I’d Say if they win the Cup he retires. If they don’t I’d say 80-20 he retires. Still have to replace him though if he does.

I would think at 42+, the end of the road is nigh.

I think it's almost a guarantee he is back unless they win the Cup. Hopefully he takes less, but he is still effective especially at 2-4m on a one year deal. He is very close to 1500 NHL games & 1000 in Boston - both of which he would reach next season.

He has not had the farewell tour either, which makes me think he was originally planning another year. Not sure he should tho. Guess we will see.

I am fine with it in a diminished capacity. Bottom pairing would be ideal.

I have loved watching him play through his career. But he is a statue out there and forwards are skating circles around him. And he knows it.
