Avs are struggling with goaltending and if Grubauer doesnt pan out we need a future number 1. Spencer Knight has gone as high as 7th and as low as 24th in mock drafts on NHL.com. I know picking a goalie in the first round is risky but I think the Avs should take the risk with their own 1st especially since they already have the OTT 1st. What are your thoughts on taking a goalie in the 1st round?
Would you do 4th OA to Vancouver for 10th OA, Jacob Markstrom and Nickolai Goldobin? Markstrom would give you immediate help in the crease and still have a safe 10th to take Knight.

If Goldobin had put up a 40 or so point season last year, maybe that'd be worth doing. But with who Colorado could get at 4th (Cozens, Byram, Dach, possibly Podkolzin.) I am not sure if it's worth 1 year of Markstrom, Goldobin and Knight. I think if Colorado could get him at 16th, I'd be happy with that. That being said, Colorado could just as well get someone like Colton Ellis at 47th or even 63rd and 5 years from now, Ellis could be better than Knight.
Adam Werner is looking pretty good as a 21 year old putting up good numbers splitting a season in the SHL on Farjestads (.926 in 26gp). He may come over and play in the A. He's on our reserve list.
