Question is do we want these players? After watching what the flames did the flyers last night and a dumb penalty by Simmonds... no thank you. Certainly there are better Lhd’s than ghost we can acquire to play the right side.

I just think Babs could really make something of Simmonds and Ghost has the potential to be really solid. Do you think there is a another team that has both pieces?

Every team out of the playoffs will have a similar set of players, most likely better. I’m not very impressed with either of them this year. Also Nylander will not me moved. Dubas is not throwing pillow talk at him. He means it.

Again we're getting into silly territory where ANY Dman is better than a Leaf Dman. You could argue that Nylander for Ghost if fair. But in what world is one year rental Simmons worth Brown, a first, second and Zaitsev. Zaitsev is a competent NHL Dman.

The Zaitsev move is to get him off the books to remove the stress of Marner and Mathews. I do agree that Zaitsev is getting the short straw and isnt nearly as bad as people think, I was just seeing if this is a trade that make sense, not necessarily the value.

If the Leafs have to make a trade for cap reasons next summer.....the Leafs have to get value back in a trade. Keep Zaitsev, he seems to needed as a competent RHD, and the real trade value in a player is the 7m cap Nylander with a $$$ output of 6.14m. Trade Nylander. No frittering around the edges trading 2.1m Brown or Kapanen. Trade one player which doesn't disrupt the team as much as trading three players.
