Free agency is not where you get good players at a discount price. When a team has to overpay, it's only because that player has enough teams interested to start driving up the price. Not because they just feel like it.

Frankly 9M isn't all that bad for him in free agency. If he signs long term, that's actually market value. As a Habs fan, I'd pay 9M to get him on my team any day of the week.

Agreed.. Good luck getting Stone for 7-7.5 especially after the monster year he is having. On pace for about 89 points
