MIN loses: Jason Zucker, Jonas Brodin, 2019 7th round pick
PIT loses: Derick Brassard, Olli Määttä, Daniel Sprong, 2020 4th round pick
WPG loses: Dmitry Kulikov, Jack Roslovic, Andrew Copp, 2019 2nd round pick

MIN gets two young and potential right-handed forwards, a decent D and a draft pick for future building, since they're one of the oldest teams in the league
PIT gets a very good and fast winger to play alongside their star centers. They also get a young lower line C and an experienced D
WPG gets a nice 2nd line C and a TOP4 d-man for their playoff run, plus two lower draft picks.
so minnesota trades the 2 best players in the trade? awful awful awful for them
They get young assets that might very well become as good as the assets they may have lost in this trade though. I think as one of the oldest team in this league they need to get some youth in this team.

to get younger you trade a 25 and 26 year old, not the 11 players older than them?

Yes. Well, the problem with the older players are their contracts in these trades in my opinion... The teams involved in this trade don't really need the other players...
Brodin.. according to our local beat writer, has been the best D on the Wild this month.. that's a blue line with Suter and Dumba. If Brodin goes anywhere its edmonton or toronto, if it's to pittsburgh it starts with Guentzel and Sprong +

Is that so. Huh. I didn't know Brodin has been that good this season.
