I think Kevin Hayes will be traded at the deadline by the Rangers. They don't seem overly committed to him long term; they gave him a one year contract this season. I also think that Yanni Gourde will be a cap casualty of the Lightning. They simple won't be able to afford him at $4M-$5M AAV. Stone would be a great fit in COL. Panarin is definitely the marquee UFA. I can definitely see him in NYC. They'll have the cap space, especially if they trade or don't re-sign Hayes and/or Zuccarello. Bob is another mystery. If Panarin leaves CBJ will be in big trouble and he might wanna follow him out the door. I can see him in PHI or maybe even CGY or VAN.

Yes, but now that Tavares has signed there they don't have the cap space to sign EK. Oh, and Stamkos was also signing with the Leafs 2 years ago ...

I'm not saying EK is going to sign there. In all likelihood, he's not. But stranger things have happened.

Why are you so against the idea of star players leaving their teams? Any time the discussion is brought up, you're very quick to say that the player isn't going anywhere. You were adamant about how the Sens weren't going to trade Karlsson, and that Tavares was going to stay. It's like the only thing you actually take a stance on

Because more often than not, real superstars stay with their teams ... this was actually quite a weird offseason because those players actually didn't stay with their teams. I have said that star players likely won't stay with their teams, but it's the true superstars like EK and JT that i didn't think were going to leave. I really just didn't see those coming. Almost all true superstars stay with their teams, but those 2 did surprise me. I'm not going to lie, 2 years ago i was saying all year that i thought Stamkos was going to re-sign with the Lightning, and what happened? He did. Same with Ovechkin last year when people were suggesting trading him. Occasionally, superstars leave their teams, but usually not. This was one of the weirdest offseason we've seen in a while.
