Like the idea of the wings going for pickard if they can trade howard. And feel like the leafs dont have to give that much up for tanev but i could be wrong about his value and rosens but would a 2nd or 3rd be enough instead of a 1st?

Don't think you need to include the first rounder in the Tanev trade, or even a second. Zaitsev and Rosen is a strong package. And I agree with GMK10 that Pickard may be on Detroit's radar, but I think you should get more for him.

Sorry to one star you but I gotta do it. Like the Johns trade not horrible anyway. Don’t sell Zaitsev... think you will be surprised with his season this year. I won’t be... but I know what to expect lol. Way too much for Tanev... way...way too much.

Sold trades upgrade to the D

I don’t see Tanev as an upgrade over Zaitsev. Loosing Rosen only gives us the option of Borgman on the bottom pair to start the next season as well.

Ive watched Zaitsev for 2 years and he is terrible. overtime you give a Russian D man big $ and long term they go for a ****. He's a 3rd pair D at best IMO. He`s had 2 years to learn the NA game and still struggles constantly. He's a pylon on the ice. Never give Russian D men big contracts. They never work out

Sounds like you just have an issue with Russians. Zaitsev will be great this year. Just like he was at the beginning of last season. The broken foot then the flu pretty much killed his season last year. 4.5 isn’t big money. If you want to hate then go ahead and hate. Dubas will make the right moves.
