I would have bet that he wouldn't have signed for over 4 mil. Seems like a lot right now, but if he can play well with Ovi and Kuz, it might not be the biggest waste.

I had Wilson signing for 5 years at 4.5 per. That said, this caught me completely off guard as I thought my valuation would be high, seeing everybody else expecting him to make 4 or 3.5 per. I think he is a super valuable part of this team, and if salary cap keeps going up, this isn't a complete disaster, but like many have said, don't start stacking bad contracts on top of each other like DET CHI LAK. This is an overpay, not massive, but could hurt them if he never reaches the level he was at in the playoffs again

What comparable did Wilson pull for this? Viktor Arvidsson makes about $1M less for almost twice the production. Now Tom Wilson makes slightly less than TJ Oshie does, and more than guys like Arvidsson, Marchessault, etc.
