Chicago says no to this trade. They aren't taking Anderson and OTT would have to take Murphy and or Anisimov as part of the package and highly unlikely they would give Saad.

E Karlsen for Murphy, Beaudin (#27 LDH pick in this year's draft), Jokiharju, 2019 1st and 2nd round pick.

With that trade suggestion, CHI is adding more than 7.5M$ of cap hit. They clearly can't do that, since they would be above the cap. Also, they already have 9M$ invested in Crawford and Ward...why would they want to take on Anderson's contract and salary?!? And why would a cap crunch team take on a bad contract like the Zack Smith's one?

This shows why you need to think a little bit and put yourself in the shoes of the receiving team in order to propose something that makes sense and that is not botched. I don't mean to be rude at all, just trying to show you where you might have neglected some thoughts. It happens a lot in here, people didn't think things through because they do their AGM in a hurry.

With the addition of Karl, Anderson as Crawford's backup (and a return to his hometown), Smith as depth down the middle, makes Chicago a huge favorite to go deep into the playoffs. I think this is a money-in money-out deal, Ottawa gets two young roster players, both who aren't as good as karlsson, by any stretch, a few picks, and a prospect.

CHI is exactly adding 7.3M$ of cap hit...how is this money-in money-out?? And that would not make CHI a favorite to go deep in the playoffs at all. They wouldn't even be top 3 in their own division (STL/WPG/NSH all ahead of them, even with that non-sense trade).

And Crawford is a more than capable #1 goalie. If he stays healthy, which he usually is for most of the season (59/57/58/55 starts in the 4 previous seasons before last season injury), Anderson pretty much almost won't be needed so he won't accept that. He won't play a second in the playoff, if they somehow get in.
