That is way too much for Faulk....... Forget Faulk, he's a top 4 not a top 2....

That's a bit over an overpayment imo. A 1st round pick + a former first round pick ++ for only two years of Faulk. You only mortgage that much of your team's future if you think the team is a legit contender this next season, which this roster most definitely is not.

He has scored 56 goals and averaged close to 40 points in the last 4 yrs on a crappy hurricanes team with little or no offence . In my opinion he is a number 2 or an excellent number three dman . at 4.8 million for next two seasons he is a huge bargain . he also helps bridge the defence giving Boqvist , joki, mitchell and krys time to develop he is also only 26 yrs old . hawks have to many d prospects that will hit nhl about the same time .
