I don't care that much if it means Toronto gets De-Haan. First of all, they may not. Second of all, the Leafs already had a good chance of getting him. And this is great for the Isles anyway, this may be the best 4th line in the NHL.

Are you really celebrating your fourth liner?

Lmao you're spending over $9 million on your fourth line for the next two seasons. Plus that ridiculous Komarov contract for four years.

Toronto lacks team toughness, they just traded their toughest player. Toronto might have the deepest forward groups in the NHL but I suspect teams will be taking runs at them all season.

I just hope Barry Trotz actually does play the 3 guys on their 4th line, Martin, Cizikas, and Clutterbuck.

And just because JT signed with the Leafs doesn't mean you shouldn't make a trade with them.

LMFAOOO, WE DUMPED MARTIN'S CONTRACT AND GOT GOALIE DEPTH?

Dubas is just repeatedly ripping Lou off. Not that McAdam is ever going to be great, he won't, but how is this fair? Lou could've easily squeezed a late pick out of this, but nooooo.

I will say this: It's a win-win. The Isles get that 4th line back (one of the best 4th lines in the NHL, if not THE best), and the Leafs get a goalie prospect and move out some cap.

It’s also the highest paid 4th line in the NHL

It’s also the highest paid line on your entire team

You would have thought the Isles could have got Martin cheaper...either retention or get a pick from the Leafs. Happy for Martin and the Isles...He still has value as player. The Martin acquisition is looking better one that the Komarov deal. I like Leo, but he just might not be an NHLer any more.

I don't mind the idea of bringing in Komarov ... 4 years X 3M is just too much.

I just finished playing 15 years of competitive hockey......I never started fights but I was in a few every year.......I'm also 5'3 and 140 pounds......

I'VE NEVER MADE THE CHOICE TO HIT OR NOT HIT SOMEONE (OR DO ANYTHING VIOLENT) BASED WHETHER OR NOT THERE WAS A "TOUGH GUY" ON THE OTHER TEAM THAT MIGHT "DO SOMETHING" ABOUT IT....THAT THOUGHT HAS LITERALLY NEVER CROSSED MY MIND WHILE PLAYING HOCKEY.....NOR HAVE I EVER HEARD ANYONE MENTION ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THAT THOUGHT PROCESS IN MY LIFE.

AND GUYS IN THE NHL DIDN'T GET THERE BY BEING SCARED OF A GHOST WHO COULD THEORETICALLY BEAT THEM UP AS PUNISHMENT FOR PLAYING HARD.

If you wan't to say that the Leafs need stronger & more physical players to be effective.....than I'm good with that.....but no one will be thinking "thank god Martins not on the bench....now I can break Matthews leg".....they'll just break his leg either way and deal with the rest after.

Another silly move from Islanders. They could rather spend 11 M for Tavares instead of "investing" them to Komarov, Martin & Filppula (altogether 8.25 M). The result of these moves will likely be Komarov-Cizikas-Clutterbuck forming the 4th line and Martin sitting in locker room. Confused

To be fair, it was Tavares decision to leave as UFA, the Isles really had no choice in the. Martin is OK to me, but Komarov seems like waste of cap and roster spot.

They have to put Martin on the 4th line. Here's how i'd do it:

Lee-Barzal-Bailey
Beauvillier-Eberle-HoSang
Ladd-Nelson-Filppula
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

I don't see a spot for Komarov. Maybe someone is getting traded, i'm not sure. Someone will get injured though. Every team has injuries. This looks like an injured forward group anyway. They good be good soon, but they definitely aren't there yet.

you forgot Mat Barzal would be traded for Zac Rinaldo, and they would get their hands on Loui Eriksson, Michael Chaput, Jayson Megna, and Reid Boucher!

Eriksson - Rinaldo -Clutterbuck
Komarov - Chaput - Megna
Martin - Cizikas - Ladd
Boucher - Filppula - Some "ECHL" Scrub

What a great team!
