    Carlson isn't signing with Montreal any more then Tavares is. Both sign with their rightful clubs.

    I've must have miss something about Carlson. Is he a 8.5 M$ d-man? God that seems a lot of money. Not saying he's not gonna get it: he will probably. But I wouldn't be the GM stucked with that kind of contract. He is no Subban imo.

    -> JT will hit the FA market just to test the water, then a team is gonna send a 13M-14M contract his way... and he might change his mind. The guy has been miserable with the isle since he got drafted...

    It's the market... he had like 80 pts this year, so yeah, 8.5 is a "convincer"

    Carlson isn't a fit with the habs, they have Weber, Petry and Juulsen. Go all in for Tavares instead of Statsny + Carlson.

    Well, you get to trade petry for a LHD (like muzzin - LAK need some RHD, or a LHD from EDM, or another player to fill a position)

    Why doesn't LA just sign Carlson then? If they need RHD they aren't gonna lose out on a bid for Carlson against Montreal and then give away their 2nd best dman just to get Petry. I dont agree with your logic.

    - well it depends, can LAK compete with MTL's cap space? this is a "IF" situation -> Also, I don't think we would get muzzin 1 for 1 with Petry, I'm just saying that by signing Carlson, we are improving our top 4 and we can leverage Petry (out of a 42pts season) to fill some gap elsewhere
