The only things these deals really do is help with depth and provide the G-Knights with some additional draft picks. If Vegas is able to do those re-signings, as you've illustrated (and I think Colin Miller is getting somewhere around $4 million AAV), then I am not sure either deal makes a tremendous amount of difference. They did give up a lot to get Tatar, and even though I think Byron would fit in well, I am not sure they'd consider making that deal until they at least see what Tatar has to offer.

I don't see the VGK getting too excited about swapping pairs of players for pairs of players plus picks at this point. They have a ton of good players, and a ton of picks. They need to add a couple of great players to match up with the Oilers, Preds, Penguins, and Lightning.

Seriously, anybody else remember the time George McPhee got the league's leading scorer for three complete busts, only one of whom was even a first round bust?

Or the time he made three blockbuster deadline deals and took David Poile's perennially underachieving team of all checking lines to the Stanley Cup Finals?

He also had his dumb moments, like drafting Joe Finley and Sasha Pokulok ahead of Matt Niskanen, but I think overall, he holds his own.

And please, don't blame him for Erat. It made perfect sense at the time, given everything everybody knew about all of the players and prospects involved. Erat is still playing.... he even made this year's Olympics.

C.Miller and S.Theodore will get more, and Idk if Vegas needs Reaves again next year. He seemed to do a lot better in Pittsburgh.

I would guess they let Perron walk and pay Miller and Theodore to longer higher AAV deals. Theodore like 5 years 4 mil and miller like 4 years 3 mil.

Keep Tatar considering how much they gave up for him.
