Description
I like this option. A good power forward with Tarasenko like JVR could work well. If not Hoffmann and Tarasenko is a great line. Then you have Thomas or Thornton to C either pair.
Even power of JVR with the speed/skill of Thomas and Kyrou, could be a good line.
Schwartzy and Schenn, you have the options of, Tarasenko, Kyrou, Kostin, JVR, Hoffman Thompson. Ideally Kyrou and Kostin split time there.
Back to Thornton, I think having him for 1 year is perfect. He'd get another chance to contend for a cup. Plus, looking ahead to the next year's FA class, we want to be financially open to bringing someone big in again....
Also left the defense the same for that reason. Big names available!

doesn't make any sense for Ottawa to take on Steen's contract unless STL is going to sweeten the pot. Sosh + Fabbri + 1st is more or less what OTT would be looking for for Hoff anyway, so there needs to be more added. erik foley perhaps? i have no idea

I thought the same thing, but didn't feel like editing it lol
Foley, Blais, Sanford could be added in there. Jaskin or Sosh could be moved for picks that could be added as well.

I think Fabbri is being greatly undervalued. There’s certainly risk involved with his career at this point but he’s expected to make a full recovery. If that happens he could very well be better than Hoffman and hold more value. If the ask for Hoffman is Fabbri + a 1st I doubt Army pulls the trigger

He could be better, or he could end up being a shell of his former self because he missed a full season of growth and development. the fact that it is a question mark affects his value. it also will make trading him more appealing because you might not want to pay him the money he's owed if his future is in the air, especially if you are a team with cap troubles like STL

Why not? Ottawa can just flip Steen for a couple picks. He’s not negative value whatsoever.

Steen definitely has value to the right team. But Steen and Ryan on the same roster in 3yrs is going to be rough, so I get where he's coming from.

Hoffman just seems to look like a great fit in this team, on paper. He's speedy, can pass, and most importantly can finish. With Fabbri speed is his #1 tool, if he lost any of that he could regress. In Ottawa here has a yr or so to build it back. And he's "playmaker passer" and Hoffman is a "playmaker scorer" I'm. We have Kyrou and Thomas, among other youngsters, so experience helps a lot too
