Jim Benning strikes again

Doesn't seem like much of a return or am I missing something?

Motte isn't bad and is still only 22 but god, Benning could've easily got a pick ontop of that.

What does VAN have to lose? He's a UFA and terrible at defense. It's a nice fit considering CBJ won't ask him to play any defense, but VAN just turned literally nothing...into something and CBJ maybe got some scoring. Fair

I think the Canucks should have gotten more for Vanek, but there just didn't seem to be much of a market for him despite the fact that he has more points than Duchene, Nash, Kane, Tatar, Grabner, Maroon etc. over the past two seasons.

Motte is only 22 years old and he's shown flashes of potential throughout his career, he's an interesting addition for the Canucks, though I'm not sure where he fits into their lineup especially with them acquiring Leipsic as well.

I've always thought Jokinen is underrated, but his production has fallen off a cliff this season. I don't really see a place for him in the Canucks lineup, but I have a feeling he will play way more than Canucks fans want him to.

This is a terrible return for him. IMO, he should've gotten similar to what Grabner brought in. But Benning historically doesn't like trading for picks, so that's probably why it went down this way.

Stupid ,stupid Vancouver. I think Jim Benning has lost every trade deal he has made at the deadline.

Jackets win this one... Basically a cap dump & Motte for Vanek ... Vanek will play a role and the other two dummies are dummies, one is a has been and the other is a never was.

You would figure that the Nucks would have taken a 3rd over that package... This is garbage for something useful, despite the fact it's only temporary.
